Hill Country Model United Nations 2023
HCMUN this year was very productive for the delegates of CISK. Endorsed by SLMUN, held at Trinity college, and organized by the MUN clubs of Trinity and Mahamaya, the conference had a variety of intriguing topics and new committees. CISK had delegates in the committees GA1, NATO and War Cabinet. Meeting old and new friends, the delegates worked according to new solution-oriented procedures, to resolve issues like the Russian nuclear warfare threat, the effect of non-state actors on the globe, as well as a simulation of King Sri Vikrama Rajasinghe’s War Cabinet in 1798 to save the Kandyan Kingdom.
With remarkable diplomacy and research ethic, Haani
Hilmy, representing the United Kingdom, won the Highly Commended Award in the
First General Assembly, making history for CISKMUN as its first award. It is
certain, with continued practice and support, the club will prosper.
